Terms and conditions

  1. For Social Contest:
    1. The Social Contest (hereby known as “Contest”) runs from 27thFebruary 2019 (Wednesday),1200 hours and will end on 29th November 2019 (Friday), 1800 hours. This period is also hereby known as the “Qualifying Period”. Contest will not be extended to any students who enrolled for any University College Dublin (hereby known as “UCD”) programmes after the Qualifying Period.
    2. Contest Eligibility:
      1. This is only open to all individual(s) who completed their enrolment application for either UCD Bachelor’s Degrees or Master’s Degrees during the Qualifying Period (hereby known as “Participant”).
      2. All employees and sales agents of Kaplan in Singapore are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
      3. All Participants will be awarded only one (1) chance (hereby known as “Chance”) to win just one (1) Prize when they make a public post on their personal Facebook or Instagram accounts on why they can make a difference with a UCD Degree and using the hashtags #UCDMakeADifference & #KaplanTheChoice. Chance(s) awarded in respect of one (1) Participant are not transferable to another Participant during the Qualifying Period.
      4. The Contest consists of one (1) winners’ selection period (hereby known as “Winners Selection Period”) in which there is one unit of (1) Prize (hereby known as “Prize”) will be awarded to (1) Participant (hereby known as the “Winner”). No Winner can be awarded more than one (1) Prize.
      5. The Winner Selection Period will run from 2nd December 2019 (Monday), 1200 hours and will end on 13th December 2019 (Friday), 1800 hours. Winners will be notified by either a Facebook or Instagram private message from Kaplan Singapore, and an email notification to their personal email address by 17thDecember 2019 (Tuesday), 1800 hours.
    3. Prizes:
      1. First Prize: 50% programme fees rebate (worth S$11, 449) for one (1) Bachelor’s Degree.
      2. Second Prize: 50% programme fees rebate (worth S$11, 449) for one (1) Bachelor’s Degree.
      3. Third Prize: 50% programme fees rebate (worth S$11, 449) for one (1) Master’s Degree.
      4. Fourth Prize: 50% programme fees rebate (worth S$11, 449) for one (1) Master’s Degree
      5. These programme fee rebates are only applicable for the Winners’ respective programme fees per Prize. They do not cover the prevailing taxes and programme-related expenses.
      6. Each Winner will receive their Prize (the programme fees rebate) in the form of a company cheque from Kaplan only afterKaplan receives official verification from UCD that the Winners have fully completed all requirements to complete and graduate from their programme. For the avoidance of doubt, this means that the Winners must continue to pay their full programme fees for the UCD programme that they are enrolled in for the entire duration of their UCD programme (i.e. up to graduation from their programme).
    4. Winners:
      1. Four (4) Winners with the best social media posts will selected by means and methods determined by Kaplan at its absolute discretion.
      2. The First Prize will be awarded to the UCD Bachelor’s Degree Winner with the highest score. The Second Prize will be awarded to the UCD Bachelor’s Degree Winner with the next highest score.
      3. The Third Prize will be awarded to the UCD Master’s Degree Winner with the highest score. The Fourth Prize will be awarded to the next UCD Master’s Degree Winner with the next highest score.
      4. The Winner shall accept the Prize in its “as is” state. Kaplan makes no representation or warranty whatsoever as to the quality or fitness or any other implied terms or conditions with respect to the Prize and assumes no liability or responsibility for any acts or defaults of the Prize. For all purposes, UCD is the official sponsor of all four (4) Prizes and Kaplan is not an agent or provider of any Prize.
      5. Each Prize must be claimed by the respective Winner before the end of the Winner Selection Period. The Prize, if unclaimed will be forfeited. Any Winner whose Prize has been forfeited shall not be entitled to any compensation from Kaplan notwithstanding any claim by him/her that he/she did not receive any notification of the Prize.
      6. If the Winner selected in the Contest cannot be contacted or otherwise has his/her Prize forfeited for any reason whatsoever, Kaplan reserves the right to draw another one (1) Participant to replace the Winner who has been disqualified. Kaplan has the absolute discretion to exclude any otherwise eligible Participant from participating in the Contest.
      7. The use of the Prize is also subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the official sponsor of the Prize.
      8. The Prize is non-transferable, neither exchangeable for cash nor credit of any kind and shall be subject to such terms and conditions which Kaplan may at its sole and absolute discretion impose from time to time. Kaplan may at its sole and absolute discretion replace or substitute the Prize with another product of equivalent or similar value at any time without notice or liability to the Winner.
  2. For Refer-a-friend benefits:
    1. The Refer-a-friend benefits promotional campaign (the “Referral Campaign”) runs from 8th April 2019 (Monday),1200 hours and will end on 30th May 2019 (Thursday), 1800 hours. This period is also hereby known as the “Promotional Period”. Referral Campaign will not be extended to any students who enrolled for UCD programmes after the Promotional Period.
    2. Referral Campaign Eligibility:
      1. This is only open to all individuals (hereby known as “Advocates”) and their friends (hereby known as “Referees”) who jointly completed their enrolment applications for either UCD Bachelor’s Degrees or Master’s Degrees during the Promotional Period.
      2. Both Advocates and Referees need not enrol for the same Degree programme to be eligible for this Referral Campaign.
      3. Advocates and Referees must at all times be verifiably different individuals.
      4. All employees and sales agents of Kaplan in Singapore are not eligible to participate in this Referral Campaign.
      5. Advocates and Referees must be amongst the first fifty (50) pairs of enrolled UCD students to be eligible for this Referral Campaign.
      6. All Advocates and Referees will be entitled to the Referral Campaign benefits (the “Referral Rewards”) once Kaplan has completed verification that both have met all requirements of the Referral Campaign Eligibility.
    3. Referral Rewards:
      1. These Referral Rewards will be awarded to Advocates and Referees respectively:
        1. Advocates will receive S$400 worth of programme referral rebates, S$90 worth of programme application fee waiver and S$60 worth of CapitaMall Vouchers.
        2. Referees will receive S$100 worth of programme fee rebates, S$90 worth of programme application fee waiver and S$60 worth of CapitaMall Vouchers.
      2. Referral Rewards will not cover the prevailing taxes and programme-related expenses. These Referral Rewards are non-transferable, neither exchangeable for cash nor credit of any kind and shall be subject to such terms and conditions which Kaplan may at its sole and absolute discretion impose from time to time. Kaplan may at its sole and absolute discretion replace or substitute the Referral Rewards with another product of equivalent or similar value at any time without notice or liability to the Advocates and Referees.
    4. Referral Rewards Collection Period:
      1. Advocates and Referees will automatically receive their rebates and waivers when they complete the last instalment payment for their programme fees.
      2. Advocates and Referees are required to collect their CapitaMall Vouchers from Kaplan between 14th June 2019 (Friday), 1800 hours and 19thJuly 2019 (Friday), 1800 hours. CapitaMall Vouchers must be claimed by the respective Advocates and Referees before the end of this period. If unclaimed, the CapitaMall Vouchers will be forfeited. Any Advocates or Referees whose CapitaMall Vouchers has been forfeited shall not be entitled to any compensation from Kaplan notwithstanding any claim by him/her that he/she did not receive any notification of the CapitaMall Vouchers to.
  3. General Terms and Conditions:
    1. The decision of Kaplan on any and all matters relating to or arising from these Enrolment Perks (including the eligibility of any Participants) shall be absolute, final and binding on all parties. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between these terms and conditions and those in any collaterals or website, marketing or promotional material relating to the Enrolment Perks, these terms and conditions shall prevail.
    2. Kaplan reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion from time to time to vary, amend, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or to terminate or suspend the Enrolment Perks at any time without notice, reference or liability to any Participant or member of the public.
    3. Kaplan has the full discretion to change any Enrolment Perks including Qualifying Period, Winners Selection Period and Prizes without any prior notice to eligible Participants or members of the public.
    4. Kaplan reserves the right to replace these Exclusive Perks with any gifts of similar value at any time, without notice.
    5. Kaplan, its affiliates, employees or agents shall not be liable to any person for any loss, damage, injury, costs or expenses incurred, suffered or borne, arising from the Enrolment Perks.
    6. These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted according to the laws of Singapore and the Participants for these Exclusive Perks agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore in the event of any disagreement or dispute relating to or arising from the Exclusive Perks.
